Robert L. “Bob” Haubert, 72, of McAlisterville, passed away at 11:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at his residence.

Born on January 27, 1948 in McAlisterville, Juniata Co., he is a son of the late Max R. and Hazel M. (Elsasser) Haubert.

On October 21, 1972, he married his surviving wife, Virginia J. (Harris) Haubert, with whom he was blessed to share over 48 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his children, Betsy J. Beverlin and her husband Terry of McAlisterville, Bobbi J. Baer and her husband Andrew of Oakland Mills, and Michael L. Haubert and his wife Jeanette of McAlisterville; five siblings, Harry Haubert and his wife Ruth Ann of Lima, NY, Betty Miller and her husband Leon of McAlisterville, James Haubert of Mifflintown, Julia Bean of Henrietta, NY, and Bonnie Belis and her husband Ted of Altoona; and he is survived by five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Haubert.

Bob was a 1965 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and was a proud veteran who honorably served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

Mr. Haubert was employed as a Conductor and retired after 24 years of service with Conrail in Enola.

He was a lifetime member of the J.E. Bowen Jr. AMVETS Post 122 in Thompsontown, was an avid hunter, and also loved to watch all sports; however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 11, 2021 at the Brown’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cocolamus with Pastor Charles McKee officiating.

There will be no public viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Haubert’s memory may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box F, Mifflin, PA 17058 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Pennsylvania Keystone Chapter, 1501 Reedsdale Street, Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233

Bob's family has my sincere sympathy. Growing up in McAlisterville I have many fond memories of the days of Knouse's Restaurant and the guys that gathered there, Bob and I being among them. We had many good times in our youth and many times that were not so good. But I have a lot of memories of times spent with Bob. Many others will have fond memories of Bob and he will be remembered and many will be sadden by his loss.
