Obituary for Walter W. Corbin

Walter W. Corbin, 73, of Lewistown and formerly of McAlisterville, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born on September 1, 1947, in Henderson Township, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late Winfield and Blanche (Bishop) Corbin. On July 9, 2016 he married his surviving wife Mildred R. “Millie” (Fisher) Corbin with whom he was blessed to share 3 years of marriage.
Surviving are his children, Joanie Moyer, James W. Corbin; siblings, Paul Bishop, Nancy Jane Middaugh, Becky Kauffman, Robert Corbin also a granddaughter Natai, several nieces and nephews and his awfully close friends Sammy and June Miller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lea Moyer, a brother Ralph “Pete” Corbin and his twin brother William Corbin.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
His memberships included the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, a life membership of the NRA and a life membership of the Crawford-Brubaker Post No. 5863, Mifflintown.
Mr. Corbin retired as a Food Service Inspector with the USDA.
Walter loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle with the Rolling Thunder.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic a celebration of his life will be held later in the summer and interment will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
