Obituary for Nora K. High

Nora K. High, 88, of Honey Grove, passed away at 3:22 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at her residence.
Born on January 19, 1932, in New Holland, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton C. and Lizzie H. (Kurtz) Martin. On December 29, 1951, she married her late husband, John N. High, with whom she was blessed to share nearly 58 years before he preceded her in death on November 12, 2009.
She is survived by her children: David High of Pitman, John High, Jr. and his wife Doreen of Bluford, Ill., Irene Martin of Anna, Ill., Karen Nolt and her husband Leon of Honey Grove, Mark High and his wife Cheryl of Silver Lake, IN, Lorraine Moser and her husband Joni of Spring Grove; one daughter-in-law, Dawn High of Unity, Wis.; a brother, John K. Martin of Lancaster; and she leaves behind 49 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one son, Curvin High; one son-in-law Carl Martin; a daughter in law, Lavina W. High; five brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. High was a homemaker and a member of the Cocolamus Mennonite Church, Bunkertown.
Nora was a talented seamstress, making thousands of sun bonnets for souvenirs. She had a gift for entertaining, always enjoying being a hostess sharing her hospitality with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, November 30, 2020 from the Cocolamus Mennonite Church, Bunkertown with Pastor Gerald N. High, Pastor Joel D. Landis and Pastor Wesley E. Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery, Richfield.
Viewing will be held from 5-8 PM, Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the Cocolamus Mennonite Church, Bunkertown.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made in Mrs. High’s memory, to the Cocolamus Mennonite Church, 21 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
The Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
