Obituary for Angelica Hannon



Angelica Hannon, 76, of Mifflintown and formerly of Lewistown, passed away at 4:14 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on November 1, 1943, in Bremerhaven, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Wilhelm Wagner and Hilda Wagner-Losskarn. On August 31, 1960 she married her late husband, James Irvin Hannon with whom she was blessed to share almost 49 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 18, 2009.
Surviving are, children, Jacqueline K. Gardner, of State College, Sylvia A. Middaugh, of Mifflintown, James S. Hannon, of Lyndell, Michelle A. Merka and her husband Michael, of Atlanta, GA, a sister, Iris Losskarn and her husband Manfred, of Wiesbaden, Germany, four grandchildren, Angelica Alfieri, Chelsea Benefiel and her husband Brandon, Stephanie Middaugh, and Seth Gardner; also her long time best friend of sixty years, Erika Zeak, of Mifflintown.
One sister, Viola Marcotte, preceded her in death on April 1, 2009 making her the last of her generation.
Angelica enjoyed traveling with family and friends, taking care of her parrots and feeding the birds outside her home, especially cardinals and hummingbirds. She loved flowers of all kinds and tending to her flower boxes around her home; however, always caring for others, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, as they were her utmost priority.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor Glenn Hosler officiating.
There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rescue Our Furry Friends, 133 North Walnut St., Burnham, PA 17009, or to the favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
