Obituary for Miriam E. "Mim" Ramsey

Miriam E. “Mim” Ramsey, 86, of the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin and formerly of Mifflintown, passed away at 11:50 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2019, at the village.
Born on August 19, 1933, in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, she is the daughter of the late S. Raymond Sr. and Sylvia (Lauver) Coldren. On December 7, 1963 she married her late husband, Robert H. “Bob” Ramsey with whom she was blessed to share nearly 45 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on August 12, 2008.
Surviving are: a son, Robert L. “Jake” Ramsey and his wife Barbara of Mifflintown, a step-daughter, Cindy L. Buchanan and her husband Joe, of Reedsville, and she leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, a son, Steven R. Benner and 2 brothers, S. Raymond Coldren Jr. and Donald Coldren preceded her in death making her the last of her generation.
In earlier life, she worked as a dental assistant for the late Dr. Samuel D. Zeiders Jr. and retired from the practice of Dr. William M. Crim, during her retirement from her dental career she was employed by W.E. Schlegel, Inc., East Salem.
She was a lifelong member of the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, Mifflintown.
Mim enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. With her gift of gab, she never met a stranger. She enjoyed talking to anyone that she met making them feel like a lifelong friend.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020, from the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, Mifflintown, with the Pastor Jennifer Heikes, officiating. Internment will private.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly asks that memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Ramsey’s memory to the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 4633 Cuba Mills Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
