Kenneth G. “Kenny” Bell, 72 of Mifflintown (Rockville), passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at his home.
Born on December 24, 1946, in Mifflin, Juniata County, he is the son of the late Robert W. Sr. and Frances E. (Pannebaker) Bell.
On February 17, 1968, he married his surviving wife, Linda L. (Barlett) Bell with whom he was blessed to share over 51 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, April L. Hampton of Hershey and Steven G. Bell and his wife Kristel of Lewistown; siblings, Robert W. Bell Jr. and his wife Susie, John E. Bell and his wife Sheron, Doris Ann Kerlin and her husband Cliff all of Mifflintown; five grandchildren, Eddie Hampton, Levi Hampton, Kira Hampton, Kaitlin Byler and her husband Garrett, and Olivia Bell; and two precious great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Byler and Mason Byler.
Mr. Bell was a 1964 graduate of Juniata Joint High School and proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
His career started with the Pennsylvania Railroad; after which, he was employed by Conrail before retiring December 31, 2006 with 34 plus years of service as a Conductor on the freight trains from Norfolk Southern Railroad.
He was a Methodist by faith who was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 925 of Millerstown, a lifetime member of the Juniata Sportsmen’s Association and a member of the American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown.
Kenny loved all types of sports, especially an ardent fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Philadelphia Phillies; however, he had been a long-time fixture at the Lost Creek Golf Club and will long be remembered for his “swing.”
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Pastor Dan Kerlin officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown where full military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.

I've known Kenny for over 60 years and we both graduated from JJHS in '64. He was always good at basketball and baseball and
had a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by all. May he now RIP.

If I did the computer stuff correctly, you'll see a pic of our 5th grade. The Bells lived near me and were among my earliest friends. I'm deeply sorry to read about Kenny this morning. My sympathy to the family.
