Barbara J. “Barb” Wagner, 83, of Mifflintown, went home to be with the Lord at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 7, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born on July 14, 1936 in Altoona, Blair County, she is a daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel (Logan) Besch.
On February 4, 1954, she married her surviving husband, John F. Wagner with whom she was blessed to share over 65 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: her children, Michael D. Wagner and his wife Sherry of Thompsontown, Randy L. Wagner of McAlisterville, John T. Wagner and his wife Sandy, Ronald A. Wagner and his wife Linda all of Mifflintown, Roy F. Wagner of McAlisterville, and Kenneth A. Wagner and his wife Michelle of Port Royal; one sister, Mary Ann Wise of Lewistown; two brothers, John Besch and Steve Besch, both of Lewistown; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Besch and one sister, Ginger Beatty.
In earlier life, Barb was employed by Empire Kosher and Lyons Fashion and retired from Weis Markets with over 15 years of service.
Mrs. Wagner enjoyed going to the Hollywood Casinos with her best friend, Jean Weiand. She also liked bingo, camping, playing the lottery daily, spending time with her family and friends; but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will always be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, and her ability to always help anyone that was in need.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor George Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Brown’s United Methodist Cemetery in Cocolamus.
A viewing will be held from 5-7 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the funeral home.
