Dennis (Denny/Pappy) Shemory, 71, of Port Royal, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. He was born on May 7, 1948 to the late Charles Shemory and Della Bookwalters. He was an avid Penn State and Miami Dolphins fan and he enjoyed sitting by the fire. He was also known for the best “Pappy Burgers” ever. He worked at FMC aka Autex Fibers until they closed their doors to the business. He then retired from Armstrong.
In addition to his parents, he is preceeded in death by his loving wife, Ruthann Fogleman Shemory, daughter Tammy Shemory-Stewart, and 2 sisters, Mary Orris and Ruth Sutter.
Surviving are his son Dennis Shemory Jr. and his wife Colleen of Port Royal, grandson Thomas (Jenna) Stewart of Mifflintown, granddaughters Alicia (Shawn) Sonder of Harrisburg, Jessica & Danelle Shemory of Camp Hill, great-granddaughter Liliana Fletcher of Harrisburg, PA, brother Charles (Bonnie) Shemory of Honey Grove, sister-in-laws Pauline Fogleman of Lafayette, GA, Donna Fogleman of Mechanicsburg and several generations of nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held for family with arrangements being handled by the Brown Funeral Home, Inc. of Mifflintown, PA. In lieu of flowers sent to the family’s home, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice: The Bridge of Lewistown at 305 Fourth Street, Lewistown, PA 17044.
