Obituary

Dianne K. (Peachey) Saner, 73, of McAlisterville, passed away at 10:10 AM on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born on March 24, 1946 in Beale Twp., Juniata Co, she is a daughter of the late Leonard L. and Mollie (Hartzler) Peachey.
On September 3, 1966, she was married to her surviving husband, C. Orlyn Saner with whom she was blessed to share more than 52 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Drew N. Saner and his wife Bonnie of McAlisterville and Neil A. Saner and his companion Melissa Leonard of Pine Grove; four sisters, Alta Auker and her husband John of Thompsontown, Ann Peachey of Belleville, Sara Peachey of Chambersburg, and Gladys Turnbull and her husband Frank of Spokane, WA; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Saner was a 1963 graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown and a 1966 graduate of Harrisburg School of Nursing.
She was a former Director of Nursing at Locust Grove Retirement Village and retired from Ohesson Manor in Lewistown as a Registered Nurse in 2012.
Dianne was a member of the Free Spring Church of the Brethren where she was a member of the Encouragers Sunday School Class and the Sew Buds. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, bird watching, studying her bible, reading Christian novels, listening to southern gospel music, and knotting many comforters over the years for “Patches of Love”; however, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Per the wishes of the family, viewing and burial will be private with the interment taking place in the Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown. A Public Celebration of Dianne’s Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2019 from the Free Spring Church of the Brethren, 670 Free Spring Church Road, Mifflintown with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Saner’s memory can be made to the Free Spring Church of the Brethren, 670 Free Spring Church Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.

I was saddened to read of Dianne’s passing. My sisters and I attended elementary school (Locust Grove) with Dianne and her sisters and have many fond memories of them. We all send our sympathy to Dianne’s family and pray that their memories of her will be a comfort.
