Obituary

Helen H. Wilson, 95, of Port Royal (Nook), passed away at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2019, at North Ridge Center Personal Care, McAlisterville.
Born on January 30, 1924, in Beale Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Emma M. (Robinson) Harris. On March 8, 1949, she married her late husband, Wade C. Wilson, with whom she was blessed to share more than 50 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on May 15, 1999.
Surviving are two daughters, Helen Ann Henry and her husband David and Donna W. Hower and her husband Steven, all of Port Royal; two granddaughters, Beth A. Adamire and her husband Dwayne and Laura E. Naylor and her husband Corey; and three great-grandchildren, Carter Adamire, Riley Naylor, and Laney Naylor.
A brother, Thomas H. Harris, Jr. and a sister, Catherine Price preceded her in death, making her the last of her generation.
She was a 1943 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown, a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Nook, and a past member of the Walnut Grange #776.
In earlier life, Mrs. Wilson was a seamstress at the Mifflin Sewing Factory, but for most of her married life, she was a homemaker.
Helen enjoyed, along with her late husband, farming and gardening, and she had a gift for baking pies. Being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she cherished the time she spent with her family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, from the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Nook, with the Rev. Allen Huslander officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. There will be no viewing at the Church on Wednesday.

Dear family. I am very sorry to have read of the recent death of your loved one, Helen. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be very comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28,29 and also Revelation 21:3-5. These verses tell us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our dear loved ones, as well as do away with all of the many causes we have for suffering, including sickness, pain & death. Knowing these truths have always comforted me and it is my hope that these thoughts from the Bible will likewise comfort your family and will also ease some of your pain during this most difficult time in your lives. I have also found very comforting information about what hope there is for our deceased loved ones on jw.org.
