C. Richard “Dick” Dimm, 92, of Mifflintown, passed away at 11:43 PM on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 4, 1927 in Delaware Twp., Juniata Co., he is a son of the late Charles Olan and Pearl Anna (Rumbaugh) Dimm.
On August 24, 1950, he married his wife, Anna Pearl (Gingrich) Dimm with whom he was blessed to share over 45 years of marriage with before her passing on October 27, 1995.
Surviving him are: three children, Marvin Richard Dimm of Wormleysburg, Cynthia D. Kerstetter and her husband Warren of Dauphin, and Daryl D. Dimm and his wife Sandy of Mifflintown; five grandchildren, Tricia E. Seaman and her husband Daniel, Adam R. Dimm and his wife Jessica, Kelly N. Kerstetter, Jon T. Kerstetter and his wife Tracie, and Shellie R. Kratzer and her husband Kenny; and ten great-grandchildren, Anna Wisner and her husband Derek, Jenna Seaman, Emma Seaman, Noah Seaman, Wesley Seaman, Owen Dimm, Parker Dimm, Addison Dimm, Rylie Kerstetter, and Coltin Kerstetter.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth E. Dimm and Evelyn M. Dimm, making him the last of his generation.
Mr. Dimm was a 1944 graduate of Thompsontown High School and was self- employed and the former owner of C. Richard Dimm TV and Appliance Sales and Service.
He was a member and attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Thompsontown where he was involved on the Church Council. He was also a member of the McAlisterville Lions Club, a member of the Board of Directors at Juniata Mutual Insurance, and a former member of the Board of Directors at Omega Bank in Thompsontown,
Dick enjoyed rebuilding and restoring Massey-Harris tractors, in earlier life playing the trombone, deer hunting, being a local dirt track racing supporter, NASCAR, and was a life long learner with computers and modern technology.
Being involved with Go Kart racing for many years, he started in 1977 with his son Daryl, and continued with his grandsons Adam and Jon, his great-grandson Owen, and several generations of local drivers. With his grandchildren affectionately calling him “Pappy,” he will be remembered throughout the community, especially the racing community, as Pappy Dimm.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 19 N. Mill St., Thompsontown with the Rev. James Park Bricker officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown.
A viewing will be held from 9 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday at the church.
