Obituary for William H. Delancey




William H. “Bill” Delancey, 70, of McAlisterville, passed away surrounded by his family at 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his residence.
Born on October 28, 1948 in Lewistown, Mifflin Co, he is a son of the late Wilda (Delancey) Stanford. On April 2, 1971, he was married to his surviving wife Linda K. (Hepner) Delancey with whom he was blessed to share over 48 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Shawn Delancey and his wife Melissa of Mifflintown, and Chris Delancey and his wife Amy of Thompsontown; one brother, Tony Weaver and his wife Marianne of Manheim; and five grandchildren, Rachael Delancey, Morgan Delancey, Brooke Delancey, James Delancey, and Matthew Delancey.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Anita “Kim” Glover.
He was a 1967 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown. Earlier in life, he was employed as an Operator with Donald Hepner Lumber and later was employed and retired from Apex Homes in Middleburg.
Bill had attended the Church of the Open Door in Evendale, was a life member of the North American Hunting Club, and enjoyed reading, photography, being outdoors, NASCAR, football, and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Church of the Open Door, 3191 Middle Road, Richfield with Pastor Jerry Knouse officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, McAlisterville.
A viewing will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Delancey’s memory to the Church of the Open Door, 3191 Middle Road, Richfield, PA 17086.
