Obituary for Mary A.J. Geedey (Yeater)



Mary A.J. Geedey, 83, of Mifflintown, passed away at 3:47 AM on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.

Born on July 12, 1935 in Beale Twp., Juniata Co., she is a daughter of the late David and Olive (Yocum) Yeater.

On April 15, 1954, she was married to her surviving husband, Raymond B. Geedey, with whom she was blessed to share almost 65 years of marriage.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Rick Geedey and his wife Matilda of Mifflintown; one granddaughter, Diana L. Raffa and her husband David of Mifflintown; one sister, Esther Weader and her husband James Sr. of McAlisterville; and one brother, Clayton Dean Yeater and his wife Mary Evelyn of McAlisterville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Yeater and his wife Alice, Erma Wall and her husbands Gerald Stydinger and Eugene Wall, Pauline Kramer and her husband Wayne; and two nephews, Norman Yeater and Daniel Yeater.

Mrs. Geedey was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church and enjoyed baking, crocheting, sewing, and traveling but her greatest joy came from spending time and going to visit with her family and friends

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. Allen Hulslander officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Nook.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
