Tammy L. Dorward, 59, of Mifflintown, died on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at her home.

Born October 28, 1959, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Charles R. “Buzz” and Jean E. (Baughman) McKarchey. She was the fiancée of the late David J. Britcher.

Surviving are two sons, John S. Dorward, II and his companion Ashton Kauffman, of Port Royal, Shawn M. Dorward and his fiancée Heidi Etter, of Harrisburg, two step-children, Davey J. Britcher, of Mifflintown, Rachel E. Britcher, of Philadelphia, a brother, Charles R. “Buzzy” McKarchey and his wife Lori, of Port Royal, and she leaves behind three precious grandchildren, Logan C. Dorward, Tinley B. Dorward, Aiden M. Dorward, also 2 step grandchildren, Jade Britcher and Chance Britcher.

One son, Aaron C. Dorward and one sister, Shirley Jean McKarchey preceded her in death.

In earlier life she was employed as a LPN for the Camp Hill State Prison and she currently was employed as a LPN by Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

Tammy was a 1977 graduate of Juniata High School, Mifflintown, who loved her pets, traveling, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.

Viewing will be from 3 – 5 pm on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at the funeral home.
